Discover the medieval town of Hall - without a doubt one of the most beautiful places in Tirol. It is famous for having one of the best-preserved old towns in all of Austria, even larger than the one in Innsbruck. The traditional design of the town center together with the modern architectural concepts of the UMIT Institute and the salt mine combine to form a unique town that is well worth a visit.

The historic town center dates back to a time when Hall was one of the richest towns in the region. In the Middle Ages, Hall was the economic center of Tirol thanks to its salt mine. There was a considerable amount of trade in goods which were later shipped on the Inn river, and the mint, which was built in the 15th century, was also an important factor of the economic rise of the town.
