Altenburg Wayside Shrine
Local artist Franz Josef Altenburg had a very special surprise present for the 50th birthday of his wife Christine.
He installed a lovely Wayside Shrine on the road leading to their home at Asperding. He conceived the design himself with four elaborate friezes that depict a Crucifix, Saint Elisabeth, a Madonna protecting the Altenburg Family and a Sun.
