The lovely Chapel was founded and erected by Count Kuefstein. The remarkable age of the Chapel and its splendid interior with precious statues draw much appreciative comment from visitors and experts alike.
The Chapel has experienced and survived a lot in its long time of existence. After World War I it even was used as a lumber room with chicken and rabbit coops in it.
The Altenheim Chapel, though, is not a museum, it is a living place of worship and ministry. Services are held regularly and visitors are always welcome to join.
