Fatima Chapel
This popular Mary´s Pilgrimage Church nestles among Fronwald Forest.
The tiny old Chapel in Fronwald Forest, erected to the glory of Saint Peter and Mary Magdalene, was built on the foundations of an ancient place of worship.
Restoration works were carried out in 1945 and subsequently the Chapel was visited by large numbers of people who were attracted to it by the fame of the Madonna Painting. In 1949 the foundation stone for the Chapel you see today was laid. It was completed and consecrated in the year 1951.
The Madonna Statue was designed by the same artist as the famous original stature of Fatima, Portugal. Monthly pilgrimages to the Chapel at Fronwald Forest are held on each 13th day from May through October.
