Every first and second weekend in Advent and on 8th December there is a beautiful Advent Market in Garsten. This market is where the romance of the holiday comes alive —smells of gingerbread and mulled wine waft through the air, and master glassblowers and other artisans sell their crafts in wooden stalls. There is also an exhibition of nativity scenes.

Culturally-minded guests will love the collegiate church, which, with its splendid stucco and Gobelin tapestries, is one of Austria’s most beautiful baroque churches. In the winter pristine Dambachtal is ideal for relaxed strolls and fun tobogganing.
