The tiny rural commune of Eggerding nestles among a magnificent basin that is surrounded by gently rolling hills from where there are uninterrupted panoramic views of scenic Innviertel Region, South Bavaria and beyond.

Eggerding has at its hamlets eight friendly Inns where a choice range of refreshments and freshly cooked food is on offer. Visitors will be warmly welcomed.

The hamlet of Hackledt, part of the rural commune of Eggerding, has been selected most beautiful place of the Schärding District for three times already. The lovely Hackledt Castle serves as stunning backdrop for a variety of cultural events such as art exhibitions. The Castle houses a friendly Tavern where guests can spend relaxed moments at the shady beer garden and spend the night in a most atmospheric setting.

Rich in history and surrounded by unspoilt nature in abundance, Eggerding boasts a wide variety of seasonal sports activities. There are soccer fields, tennis courts, indoor facilities and curling alleys as well as the exemplary model airplane landing field of Schärding, venue of both national and international competitions. The Schärding/Taufkirchen Golf Club sprawls across Eggerding´s territory, making the village a perfect base for golf buffs.
