The town of Leonding is an important hub of trade and industry surrounded by a verdant open countryside. The upcoming municipality has a population of 23,500 and lies on foot of Kürnberg Mountain between the Danube and the Traun Rivers and is set within the boundaries of Upper Austria´s capital Linz.
Findings of the Stone and Bronze Age as well as from the Roman era are evidence of a long settlement.
The lovely downtown center of Leonding is dominated by the Parish Church of St. Michael´s, the Town Hall and the House No. 44, a center of contemporary art. Worthwhile attractions include "Maximilian´s Fortification Towers".
Two modern Centers of Events (accommodating up to 1,000 people) and indoor sports facilities make Leonding a lively gathering place.
