Kronstorf – a town where you belong!

Old finds show that Kronstorf was settled over 5000 years ago.

The gothic church, which dates from the 13th century, was carefully remodeled in the 1970ies and many of its neo-Gothic decorations were removed. Blue glass windows, designed by Inge Dick, were added in 1999.

The world-famous composer Anton Bruckner worked as assistant schoolteacher and organist in Kronstorf from 1843 to 1845, and felt “like in Heaven” here.

Florian Födermayr, agriculture minister during the interwar period and mayor of Kronstorf, was the initiator and, in 1948, founder of the Austrian Association of Municipalities.

Today the borough of Kronstorf comprises 12 towns and is a popular residential area with good infrastructure, including a kindergarten with crèche, an elementary school, a music school, playgrounds, sports centers, kilometers of beautiful cycleways and Enns reservoir for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing.

A number of clubs and associations add to Kronstorf´s rich cultural and social life.
