The Ötscher and the charterhouse are the most popular attractions of the market community GAMING and stand for NATURE, SPORT and CULTURE.

Gaming is situated on 430 m above sea level at an old trading route, once leading from the Styrian Erzberg to the Grubberg into the country at the foothills of the Alps. The popular summer freshness resort is surrounded by the first 1000m high mountains of the Styrian-Lower Austrian lime alps, the Zürner (1096m), the Föllbaumberg (1014m) and the Schwarzenberg (1049m) mountains. Thanks to the former charterhouse Gaming, the Lower Austrian Iron Route and the nature park Ötscher-Tormäuer, the community has established itself as a major excursion target. The stalactite cave and the nostalgic train "Ötscherland-Express" contribute to that, too. Apart from the traditional sports, such as swimming, hiking, minigolf, tennis and cycling, the following trend sports are also represented: mountain biking, inline-skating, beach-volleyball and nordic walking which you´ll enjoy in the wide, magnificent landscape at the border of and in the nature park. Lackenhof am Ötscher is one of the nine smaller communities of the largest (in size) municipality of the country, which covers an area of 244 km² from the Kienberg to the Zellerrain, including the Ötscher.
