Bludenz is situated on an altitude of 588 m and has about 14.500 inhabitants. The regional capital is economical and cultural center of the Vorarlberg upper part. No other town in the Alps incorporates a natural variety of mountains more than Bludenz.
The town situated at the Ill is starting point of 5 valleys to 4 mountain regions: Klostertal (Lechtal Alps, Arlberg), Montafon (Verwall and Silvretta), Brandnertal (Rätikon), Großes Walsertal and the Walgau with the main village Bludenz.
