Especially families love to spend their holidays on a farm, to live in harmony with nature, enjoy regional produce, gain hands-on experience and get to know people who have influenced the landscape. Once a week we visit the pasture Grunholz and watch how the farmer milks the cows. Every Monday you can try pony riding and every Thursday we hike to Holdamoos.
Our holiday village is a paradise for all bikers who love long bike trips. Day by day you can start a different challenging tour directly from the village. Ask for tour suggestions.
Many cultural events take place in our immediate vicinity (e. g. Bregenzer Festspiele Jul 18 - Aug 19, 2008 and the Schubertiade festival in Schwarzenberg Jun 14 - 24 and Aug 24 - Sep 9, 2008). We offer shuttle services to and from the events.
Agriculture and tourism cooperate closely in the Bregenzerwald region. Therefore it's a matter of course for most of the region's chefs that they use mainly local produce, e. g. meat from animals kept under animal-friendly conditions, many different cheeses and dairy products, fresh vegetable and herbs. The traditional inns offer hearty meals such as the typical Kässpätzle. Refined dishes can be found on the menus of upscale restaurants.
A trip can lead you to the capital Bregenz at Lake Constance, to the Pfänder mountain where you can watch eagles, to the art house or to Dornbirn, to the Karren mountain, to the Rappenlochschlucht gorge or to the "inatura", one of the most modern nature museums within Europe. A map with many suggestions is available at the tourist office.
