Krems is also a sports town - with a diverse programme with regards to cycling and hiking tracks, a modern adventure swimming facility, sailboat and yacht harbor as well as a airfield/hot-air balloon flight, Wachau round-flight everyone will find something. Each year, on 14 September 2003, the famous Wachau marathon takes place, where already about 12,000 people participated. In Krems numerous other runs also take place during the year, starting with the "Er & Sie Lauf" to the popular New Year´s run.
