Tourismusverband Thermenregion Wienerwald
Starting in Perchtoldsdorf, the area extends itself along the Vienna Woods, including Mödling and Baden, and ends in Wiener Neustadt.
We owe the rich, full-bodied red wines of the southern Steinfeld and the full, ripe whites of the northern Thermenland to the location in the Pannonic region with its pleasant, almost Mediterranean climate. These wines are favourites amongst connaisseurs.
Not only is this region a paradise for hikers and nature-lovers, but also for relishing detectives.
Castles and fortresses tower above charming little villages, medieval churches and monasteries, such as the former Benedictine Abbey in Kleinmariazell, the pilgrimage church on the Hafnerberg and the Heiligenkreuz monastery - centres of religious life.
