The merged towns of Aigen and Schlägl are in a beautiful location on the southern slopes of the Bohemian Forest, in the area that straddles the borders of Austria, Bavaria and the Czech Republic.
Aigen-Schlägl is the region’s main tourist destination and offers a wide range of sports and leisure facilities for all ages and all seasons. The beautiful landscape and warm hospitality here make it easy to relax, unwind and forget about everyday life for a while. Highlights include the beautiful baroque church and the library which contains some 60,000 books.
Another worthwhile attraction is the abbey church which boasts three magnificent organs, among them the famous main organ (1634) on the western gallery.
