In August 2002, a swampland (3,5 km²) have been declared a natural monument. The central spot of this lands is occupied by the Sonnentau plant (drosera rotundifolia), a carnivorous plant to be found typically in swamps.

In the Feistritztal valley, the largest Geo-park of Austria (175 km hiking paths) can be found, featuring:"Hiking and geology in a natural landscape"
Every single hiking path shows up separately in a hiking guide. Stops or panorama points that are geologically interesting will be marked and shown in your guide with a photo. Furthermore, adventure stops are can be found out in nature or at single gastronomy operations.
The hiking guide is available for EUR 6,00 at all Geo-park inns and villages.
