One of the most important time witnesses of Dürnkrut's history is its castle. The recently renovated Renaissance castle accommodates the municipal office and an information corner about the March-Thaya-woodlands. A couple of halls exhibit armours and weapons that should remind of the battle of 1278. This battle has had a decisive influence on the fate of Austria and the entire region of Middle Europe.
