Bärnkopf is the "highest" community in the Waldviertel
Bärnkopf is worth a visit at any season!
The former lumberjack village is situated in the centre of one of the largest woods of Austria.
For this reason our top sport offers are mountain biking, cycling and cross-country skiing.
Hiking, searching for mushrooms, or ice curling during winter are a more relaxing holiday version.
The village itself and the surrounding meadows and woodlands provide cross-country skiing runs on 6 different lengths, as well as connection track to the neighbouring village Gutenbrunn.
The village track can also be used at night time (flood-lighted).
