Booking book package
ANGERN is located on the banks of the river March. Soon there will be a ferry that can also be used by cyclists to cross the river.
MANNERSDORF is especially known for the Rochus Chapel, which can be seen from far away. From the chapel, built on top of the Rochus hill, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Marchfeld, the Weinviertel and even to the Karpaten mountain range. There´s something you really should not miss while you are here, and that is a fine glass of wine and hearty snacks.
Pre-historians from all over the globe know STILLFRIED/GRUB where finds from the Stone Age, the Bronze Age and also from Medieval times are exhibited in a museum and on an excavation site. You will certainly enjoy visiting this idyllic village with the Wallburg fortress.
In the picturesque village of OLLERSDORF you find many well-marked paths through the cellar-alleys. The main attraction in spring is the "Day of the open Wine-Cellars".

Biking, Hiking, Dining

From now on, you can also go biking in Angern at the March - near Hohenau at the March, in the north - by passing the borders. A ferry will lead you to Slovakia to Zahorska Ves. The circle has been closed, half of the trail is on the Austrian and the other one on the Slovakian territory. The border is being trespassed in Hohenau and Angern. A bike and hiking map regarding the region March-Thaya flood plains can be ordered at the regional association March-Thaya-Auen:
Rathausplatz 1, 2273 Hohenau an der March, Tel. 02535/31161.

The cosy end of a walking tour or a biking tour can be an inn at the Kellerberg. At the weekend (Saturday and Sunday 2pm), our hosts open in turns for the first time!
