The municipality of Rechnitz is located at the foothills of the Gschriebenstein mountain. It is a recreation area for lovers of active holidays and for all those, who are interested in nature, culture, and history. Since 1996 Rechnitz has been a municipality at the Geschriebenstein nature park.
The nature reserve is always worth a visit - go for walks of half an hour or a whole day and explore the flora and fauna of the Günser mountain range.The nature reserve´s office organizes adventure tours along the hunting trail and hikes to the robber baron´s castle with campfire and a robber baron´s menu afterwards. Especially children are fond of it. The Gschriebenstein mountain is an attractive destination for biker´s and mountain bikers.
