The municipality of Rechnitz is located at the foothills of the Gschriebenstein mountain. It is a recreation area for lovers of active holidays and for all those, who are interested in nature, culture, and history. Surrounded by woods, orchards, and vineyards Rechnitz is ideal for peaceful holidays.

Favored by the Pannonian climate excellent wine is grown here. Small, relaxed wine taverns serve regional culinary delights. The woods are ideal for hikes.

Since 1996 Rechnitz has been a municipality at the Geschriebenstein nature park.

The nature reserve is always worth a visit - go for walks of half an hour or a whole day and explore the flora and fauna of the Günser mountain range.

The nature reserve´s office organizes adventure tours along the hunting trail and hikes to the robber baron´s castle with campfire and a robber baron´s menu afterwards. Especially children are fond of it. The Gschriebenstein mountain is an attractive destination for biker´s and mountain bikers.
