2000 years ago there was a Roman fort at the banks of the Danube, where you can now visit the lovely town of Tulln. According to the legend of the Nibelungen Krimhild met Etzel in Tulln, which was the residence of the House of Babenberg. The famous charnel-house, and the Romanesque parish church are proud witnesses of a rich history. The world-famous painter Egon Schiele was born in Tulln.

Today Tulln is famous for its wonderful fairs, exhibitions, shopping facilities, leisure time activities. It is also called the Town of the Roses!
