Laussa, the little town on the former "Iron Trail", is idyllically located amid Upper Austria´s green heart, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The entire region is famous for traditional scythe manufacturing at the Hammerherren Castle and the famous Sonnleithner Scythe Mill (closed in January 2001).

Choose from a whole range of recreational amenities, among them the Energy Theme Trail, featuring 9 different sections with plenty of information about renewable energy sources, the Laussa Nature Preserve trail or the ultimate Wind Park in the Plattenberg area towering high above the valley.
