Annaberg in Lower Austria was the most important pilgrimage place for the "Annen". Pilgrims came from all over the world, in order to bring forward their concerns to Anna (Anna, Mary and Jesus).
The attention and confidence the people paid towards the saint has a long tradition which goes back to the Middle Ages. Anna was the mother of Mary and the grandmother of Jesus.
The pilgrimage is organised by a whole community consisting of the municipality Annaberg, the cultural association Annaberg and the folk culture Lower Austria.
