Pass the "Etti-Rast" with an excellent view over Senftenberg and follow the red-white-red marks along the vineyards of Timlingstein.
Near the "Zwoelf Aposteln", the path leads upwards through a small forest and the "Schatzwand" to the Scheibl Hill (486 m), with bizarre rock formations.
After passing the "Maierkreuz" and crossing the "Frauenbach", you reach the "Forstgut Waldhof". On the right-hand side, the path follows the yellow marks to Scheibenhof.
Directly from the old and dilapidated castle, the path leads to the right, through the forest up to the "Fesslhuette", which offers snacks at daytime in the summer from Wednesday to Sunday.
Viewpoints worth seeing are the ledge of the "Vogelberg" (546 m) and the "Starhembergwarte" (564 m) at the summit of the mountain. The key to this observation point is available at the Fesslhuette.
Please do not take the right path via the "Vogelbergsteig", you better choose the left path via the Duernstein ruins.
During the descent one enjoys an impressing panorama view of Duernstein and the surrounding landscape.
Continue to Krems by boat or by train. The walking time to Duernstein is approx. 3 and 1/2 hours.
