Visitors to Bad Goisern enjoy, more than anything else, our stunning mountainous surroundings!

Hiking in the mountains has many rewards. Beautiful scenery, the feeling of freedom, enjoyment of rugged, natural landscapes, the discovery of plants and animals not seen in the valleys ...... And then there is that wonderful feeling when you reach the summit. You feel like the king or queen of the valleys which spread out beneath you!

where tumbling streams have carved out the valleys and formed tributories to the River Traun and little farmhouses remind us that farming traditions live on today.

The beautiful, broad Goisern valley, protected from the wind, spreads out even further beneath us. The valley lies 504 m above sea level.

The beautiful Bad Goisern valley offers many gentle and rewarding trails.

Examples include:

* the romantic "Huetteneckalm" - mountain pasture with hut for refreshments
* the "Predigstuhl" with stunning views of the Dachstein glacier
* the "Eastern Shore Trail" along Lake Hallstatt with its botanic study trail
* the Goisern mountain hut (30 minute further to the summit of the Kalmberg)
* the Sarstein from which you can continue to Obertraun
* the historic Salzkammergut brine pipe-line trail from Hallstatt to Ebensee
