A perfect symbiosis of scenic beauties and fair courts. "Golf in the Vineyards" is the motto here.
Surrounded by vineyards and woods, the three parts of the course have demanding start- and finish-holes and a "relaxing" middle section. The natural greens are characteristic for the course. Water obstacles were perfectly integrated into the undulating, sloped terrain.
The course combines the characteristics of a classic golf course with the advantage - due to the mild climate influenced by the Danube - of being able to play golf all the year round.
The Golfcourse Ottenstein can be reached in 25 minutes by car from Senftenberg.
Two narrow streams and idyllic natural ponds give this 18-hole championship course its own special character. The golfcourse guarantees lots variation and grown beauties: open meadows, dense forests, hilly or flat courses. Boredom definately doesn´t have a chance here!
The course offers several memorable holes - number 3 for example, a sharp Dogleg to the left with a half island green. Or number 4, a long Par 5 alongside the Dobra-Beach. Hole number 8 was modified in 2001 and is a lot friendlier now.
On one hand, "The Country Club" with the "Diamond Course", and on the other hand, Austria´s biggest golf club with some 4300 members, the "Golf Club 2000" with its home course "Gold Course".
The "Diamond Course" is a top class, 18-hole championship course (Par 72) with a length of 6450 m and is available since end of May 2002.
A lakeside scenery of 9.7 hectares and trees of over 50 years of age, the course is a combination of "Lakeside" and "Parkland" Course - a unique type which is not to be found elsewhere in Austria.
Due to its length and difficulty, the course will be THE course for top players to tackle.
