The Lange Lacke is situated north of Apetlon and its waters offer perfect habitat for many birds.
Watch them all in summer and fall....
he international value of these waters becomes evident when you know that these birds use our area as resting grounds on their journey south. It is vital to preserve these areas!
"GANSL-STRICH"
Thousands of geese gather in the midle of October on the Lange Lacke nature preserve. The return to sleep in the National Park - this adventure is called "Gansl-Strich" .
CATTLE HERDS - TRADITIONS
The big cattle herds had a great part in forming the landscape to what it is now. To preserve the landscape cattle herds are still held in the area - the parade on May 1st is an impressive event for locals and guests. The herd can be observed from May to October.
Spring is when the Pußta blossoms. - an ideal time for birdwatching. Discover up to 140 different birds.
Summer is less suitable for nature obervations but if you get up early you will be rewarded.
Autumn might offer great weather. Already in September the birds travel past our area. The "Gansl-Strich" is THE highlight in October/ November.
Winter is the ideal season for birdwartching - dress warm!!
