Already nature alone, although it's covered by the snow, radiates a particular quietude during that time of the year. The days are the shortest ones of the year but the long evenings with candlelight and lanterns also make for a warming atmosphere. So open eyes and ears are enough to be captured by this relaxing and romantic ambience.

The hikes, with snowshoes or without, are shorter than usual because it's getting dark around 5pm. Then it's time to enjoy something good like tea and biscuits accompanied by a crackling fire in the tiled stove in a quiet atmosphere. A visit to the Tirolean Mountain Christmas at the 600-year old Sixenhof, a morning mass at the Annakirche church and an Advent concert by the Achensee singers complete this atmospheric offer.
